So It Goes

“And so it goes…”

I just finished reading the collected short stories of Kurt Vonnegut. I’m caught between being excited to celebrate finishing something and the anxiety of “what do I read next?”

I’m also excited with the idea of starting something new. In the case of reading, I get to meet new characters, travel to new places, and experience new challenges. Maybe it’s non-fiction, where I get exposed to new ideas or new points of view.

Why limit ourselves to a new book? Maybe it’s a new recipe or a new shirt. I’m always open to recommendations for new music. Don’t get me wrong; I appreciate the old, the familiar, the well-worn, and I’m always open to trying something new.

The great thing about trying something new is you get the chance to see if you like it or not. It’s exciting and fresh and challenging. While even part of it may be familiar, it’s still something new and an opportunity for new adventure.

There’s an amount of joy in starting something new. If we look at each day as a new day, each week, each month, and yes, even Monday – they’re all an opportunity to start something new.

What’s something you can view as “new” today? What will you adventure be?

Drop a post below – I’m curious to hear about your new!
