What's This About? Pt 2

The next round of drinks arrives at our table. The patio is buzzing with conversation as the sun slowly sets in the west. A cool breeze shuffles by.

My friend takes a sip of his drink and resumes our conversation. “Okay, so that’s the workshop. You said coaching as well? Like a life coach?”

Yeah. Or success coach? Thought partner? (I shrug my shoulders.)

“I hear that a lot these days – ‘life coach’.”

It’s a thing! Honestly, I actually laughed when I first heard the term years ago. It may have been a punchline in a movie. Yet, here I am. Having worked with a coach myself, I can say it was one of the best investments I’ve made in myself.

“How’s it work?”

I work with my clients for, say, three months. We meet once a week for an hour. We work together on those elements in their life they want to improve or change. I work improv activities in as much or as little as they want.

“Wait, I have to do improv?!”

You do! Sometimes, it’s just a quick activity. Much like the workshops, the activity is followed up with coaching questions that spur conversation.

“And this works?”

It does. In fact, one of my clients had a wonderful breakthrough that led to my tagline. We worked the “Yes, And…” game. After a moment of reflection, she said “Huh, I’ve been living ‘yes, but’ with my husband. I want that to be ‘yes, and…’” Thank you!

“I still don’t know,” he said.

I’m not looking to make you an improvisor. If you want that, we can talk as well. I’m showing you the skills, the process, improvisors use to be successful. Skills anyone can learn from this artform to be a better communicator, collaborator, and over more impactful leader.

“Okay, I think I get it. Who are you looking to work with?”

Anyone can learn these skills. I want to work with directors, upper management, even the C-Suite! Those that feel stuck or overlooked and want to achieve the success they deserve. That’s where I was. I was passed over for opportunities I know I’d have been great in.

“Got it. Next round’s on me.”

Are you feeling stuck or stifled? Moving into a new opportunity and feeling the Imposter talking to you? Are you ready to achieve the success you deserve and do your great thing? Schedule a complimentary coaching call so you, too, can start living a Yes, And…Life in a yeah, but world.
