Leadership Skills

Be the leader you were meant to be.

Be the leader you were meant to be.

“Leadership skills will be paramount for not only those at the top of a traditional corporate hierarchy but increasingly for those individuals throughout the company who are expected to embrace the modern workplace. Possessing an understanding how to bring out the best in and inspire employees and colleagues within a diverse and fast-moving workplace needs strong leadership skills.” Human Resources Online

A strong leader makes us feel safe. Makes us feel that we can take over our world. Ensures that the environment we’re in rewards risk without punishing failure. Take a moment and think about somenoe you consider a strong leader. Someone you would take a bullet for. Why is that? How did they make you feel? About the work you do? About your environment? About yourself?

In the world of improvisation, everything we do in a scene, in rehearsal or a performance, are trains of strong leaders:

  • Create a safe space

  • Take risks

  • Celebrate failure

  • Listen without judgement

  • Support new ideas

Know that, for now, these skills don’t come naturally. Vince Lombardi said “leaders are made, they are not born.” Strong leaders use a particular set of skills to, well, lead. These skills can be learned. A series of applied improvisation workshops is the beginning to become a great leader.
